About Seek Now's XR Team:
Our XR Team members are experts in the development of immersive virtual products and is at the forefront of creating multi-platform virtual simulations for the insurance industry. Our focus is on crafting realistic virtual experiences for coaching and assessment across various platforms. We also collaborate with Seek Now's partners and clients to transform conventional learning materials into immersive 3D visualizations, suitable for video rendering and virtual simulations.
Position Overview:
As an XR Content Developer and Designer, you will collaborate closely with the Product Owner and other XR team members to translate learning materials into realistic cinematic content for 3D visualization rendering, virtual reality, and gaming platforms. You should possess a well-rounded skill set encompassing 3D production, video production, and a solid grasp of Unity mechanics. This role requires versatility in supporting various aspects of production, from pre-production to post-production, ensuring timely project completion.
Key Job Functions:
2D Artist:
* Create storyboards depicting lecture content, animation sequences, and camera angles
* Develop 2D assets, including buttons, icons, and texture maps for game engine UI
* Assist in webpage design and implementation for products when required
3D Visualization:
* Craft lifelike characters, object, VFX, and environment animations to convey learning materials realistically within Maya and Unity
* Produce animatics
* Rig characters or objects, perform weight painting for animation preparation when required
* Occasionally create high-detail 3D objects based on reference photos for use in Maya or Unity, including unwrapping, texturing and retopology if asset is outsourced. These models could be hard surface or organic
* Ensure design, render configuration, layers, lighting, camera movement, naming, and composition follow design principles and project requirements and stay consistent between animation scenes
* Assist in editing playblasts, lecture audio, and 2D text overlays into video for client review
* Assist with assembly of final renders using video editing software when required
XR Set Designer:
* Design and maintain game engine sets, ensuring consistency between levels and alignment with project requirements
* Seamlessly integrate production assets and animations from Maya to Unity
* Implement Seek Now Scenario Builder SDK into set design and connect assets to prefabs
* Collaborate closely with XR software engineers to ensure smooth set design-to-development transition
* Create in-game animations within Unity using 3D library assets
* Optimize lighting and cinematic elements prior to deployment
* Conduct alpha testing post-development to ensure design requirements and UI/UX standards are met for beta testing
Requirements for Success:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in one or more concentrations of 3D game development
* Willingness to embrace and adapt to new software and production processes
* Strong design ability and ideation skills
* Collaboration in conceptual design of experiential and branded environments with potential for design leadership
* Comfort with alternative methods within traditional gaming and animation pipelines
* Innovative, creative thinking, strong spatial and environmental design aptitude
* Proficiency in traditional and real-time rendering software, Unity required
* High proficiency in 3D visualization software, Autodesk Maya required
* Intermediate-level proficiency in video editing software, Adobe Premiere required
* Exceptional work ethic, efficiency, flexibility, and a positive attitude
* Effective communication skills, team-oriented, self-driven, and adaptable to fast-paced project demands
Essential Qualifications:
* Expert in 3D production pipeline
* Expert in Game Development pipeline
* Expert in Maya to Unity pipeline
* Expert in post-production software for 2D and 3D stills and animation (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects)
* Intermediate knowledge of Unity and Unity mechanics
* Expert knowledge of XR design pipeline
* Proven experience as a 3D animator, with knowledge of various animation techniques (blendshapes, keyframe, Mocap, deformers, dynamics, etc.)
Additional Details:
* Up to 15% travel
* Occasional overtime may be necessary
* We will provide the necessary hardware and software support as required. To ensure consistent file transfers, we mandate the use of standardized software and versions for all team members
